As many of you know the life span of fuel oil tanks may be cut short by leaks caused by internal corrosion. The replacement of these tanks may become a costly ordeal with prices ranging from $500 to $1,000. Under most homeowner’s insurance policies, fuel oil tank replacement is not covered leaving the homeowner to bear the financial responsibility of a tank replacement. We are proud to announce that we can now offer you the Tank Protector, a high tech product that inhibits oil tank leaks. Extensively tested, the Tank Protector is the only product available to the home heating oil customer that uses sacrificial anode technology, known industry wide as the best approach to tank leak prevention.

Changes in temperature leads to the formation of condensation (water inside the tank) which causes the acceleration of corrosion forces. Water inside the oil storage tank can cause the tank to rust from the inside (the leading cause of tank failures). The Tank Protector anode works to prevent your tank from leaking in the first place. It’s similar to the anodes many people use on the motors and propellers of their boats. By shifting the focus of corrosion from the steel tank to the zinc anode, the Tank Protector is able to neutralize the major cause of tank leaks. Not a chemical additive, the solid sacrificial anode stays in your tank and gradually dissolves. We automatically replace the anode once per year at a cost of $24.95 per year. The Tank Protector stops leaks and provides you with expanded warranty protection.

The Tank Protector is installed into your oil storage tank during a normal fuel delivery. Ninety days (90) after initial installation, your warranty begins and you are protected up to $1000 for a complete tank replacement (on above ground fuel oil storage tanks of 330 gallons or less), including labor costs if the tank does leak. The Tank Protector is available regardless of tank age. This warranty will in almost every case allow us to complete the tank replacement job at no cost to the homeowner.
